The wonderful people at Codemasters have announced DiRT 4!
One sweet thing about 4 is the team at Codemasters wants to blend the hardcore elements of Rally with the easy to use 2 and 3!
“DiRT 4 features a game-changing system called Your Stage; an innovative rally route creation tool that allows you to produce an almost-infinite number of unique stages at the press of a button. You choose your location and set the route parameters, then Your Stage does the hard work to create a unique rally stage that you can race, share with your friends, and then challenge them to beat your time. Your Stage allows experienced rally players to create longer, more technical routes, whilst newcomers can create simpler shorter routes as they hone their skills.” via the Codemasters Blog
DiRT 4 is one of two games recently announced from Codemasters, Micro Machines World Series was announced on January 19th, a week before 4.
Ex-Evolution head Paul Rustchynsky confirmed that their team is working on a new IP and that the DiRT team that has always done the games continue it with 4 via Twitter. Codemasters bought the Evolution team from Sony on April 11th, 2016 after Sony was set to shut down the studio.
There’s no word on a PlayStation VR version, as announced only a few weeks ago, DiRT Rally is coming to PS VR.
DiRT 4 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC this June.
