Grip Digital and Right Nice Games has released a new trailer for their upcoming 3D platformer Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island. Watch the new trailer above. The “Gadgets Trailer” showcases three items that you will be able to use in the game to manipulate the world around you as well as to traverse to new areas. The jetpack appears to be used to avoid treacherous low-lying areas, gives you the ability to reach higher sections and find secrets, as well as float smoothly between platforms. The time orb will be used to manipulate time so that you slow down quickly spinning platforms and fast moving/shooting enemies. The magnetic glove appears to be used to pick up large items that will unlock new areas, pick up larger weapons that can be used against enemies, as well as manipulating the metal objects in the environment to open up new routes of travel.
Lovers of 3D platformers will be excited to know they have quite a few choices in the genre over the next few months. Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in March 2017.
Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island is a passionate revival of the legendary 3D platformer genre with classic gameplay, playful gadgets, and a lighthearted story set in a gorgeous, colorful world reminiscent of our childhood adventures.
You play as the brave Skylar, a young female space-feline caught in the middle of a robotic overlord’s exploitation of a peaceful world. This robotic menace, known as the CRT, kidnapped our heroine and wiped her memory in an attempt to reconstruct her into a super weapon. She wields a weaponized mechanical arm, packing an enormous amount of punching power.
