First off i’d like to think Bethesda and the rest of their team on giving me this amazing opportunity to play Fallout 4 early, not only play it early but allow me to get a review up for all of you fairly early instead of a week or two after launch!
Now onto my Review. Now i’d like to say my Review is based off the PS4 Version of Fallout 4. I’ve clocked in roughly 36 hours of playtime already and i’m loving it, i have not completed the main story yet so that should give you a good idea on how large this game is. Granted i haven’t been focusing on just the main story, i’ve been busy getting lost in this exquisite world Bethesda built! Now if this is your first time reading one of my review’s you need to know that i do not spoil the main story for any game i review, i want you to be able to read my review without being worried something from the main story will get spoiled. I want to knock this one off the bat first just because this is the least of my worries, the graphics for Fallout 4 are okay, personally i think with updates if they should make the lighting better, and make the textures load in at a further distance. In terms of art style Fallout 4 nails it. Now Fallout 4 does suffer Frame Rate drop at least of the PS4 Version which makes me very sad to say because i hear the Xbox One Version does’t drop frames all that much or at all, so it seems that PS4 just got a bad port which is really sad to say. If you’re a PS4 Player like myself lets hope Bethesda gets an Update out soon for Fallout 4 on PS4 to make the Frame Rate much smoother because at times it gets very ridiculous. Besides that i have encountered some bugs but nothing too ground breaking where it makes the game unplayable, just bugs like when you kill someone sometimes their body goes flying up in the air. But where Fallout 4 shines is in the game play, i can’t even explain to you how much they improved the game play compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas i mean it’s incredible, the guns feel very solid and the NPC’s are unique, they all look different from one another even the basic NPC’s like Raiders, and play different, some like to sit behind cover while other ones will bob rush you and not let you heal, they’ll make sure you die! Which keeps the game play refreshing. Also better yet you can actually have a lot of fun with combat in Fallout 4 and you don’t even need to use VATS, that’s how much they improved on the combat. Now VATS is always a fun little option and i still use it. But now you don’t rely on it, also now when you go into VATS time only slows down and does not completely pause the game like how it use to, which changes up the game play for VATS drastically! The sound quality is amazing specially if you have a high quality head set this sounds sound very crisp, from Music to Using the Fat Man to blow up a mini nuke, it all sounds great and i must say Bethesda did a fantastic job on that! The side missions are awesome as well, i know people were iffy about the main protagonist having a voice this time, but trust me when i say this its worth it, i find my self to be far more intrigued in everything from the main story to just simple side missions. Bethesda really did go all out to make this the best Fallout ever created. The features that have been implemented in the game are insane, from Weapon, Armor and from building up a settlement customization is seriously incredible. Everything is extremely in depth, and i’m in love with it all. With all this customization it makes everything in the game useful, even the stuff considered as “Junk”. Actually it’s funny because in my opinion the stuff considered as junk is some of the most useful stuff in the game. You need all that junk to be able to customize your armor, weapons, and to build up your settlement. If you’re on the edge about buying Fallout 4, get it! DON’T miss out on the game of the year. You will lose so many hours into this game and you won’t even care because you had way too much fun. Not to mention sometime in 2016 PS4 will be getting Mods on Fallout 4 which will make the game virtually endless. Mods will be free so that means you’ll continue to keep getting content for the game. That’s just an added bonus too.
Conclusion: Fallout 4 is a Fantastic Game and if you like RPG games its a Must Buy No questions asked. Just like every game it has Pro’s & Cons but the cons can be fixed with an update. I give Fallout 4 a 10/10 and it’s my Game of The Year!
