Quite a few great games came out this year, and part of the spirit of end of the year comes Game of the Year awards. So of course I thought I’d share my nominees and pick a winner. I also decided to only have 3 nominees in my list. Keep in mind these are all my own opinions and don’t necessarily represent my colleagues here at Late Night Gamers.
Game of the Year Nominees:
Ratchet & Clank- Insomniac Games
Simply put the re-imagining of the PS2 classic delivered on pretty much all levels. Hands down the most fun game I played this year.
DOOM- id Software
Doom is simply a marvel of a game, and perhaps the best FPS I played in a long time.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End- Naughty Dog
I was new to the Uncharted series until late last year, playing through The Nathan Drake Collection. The final entry into the massively successful Playstation exclusive delivers on all fronts. The story felt the most meaningful to me than the others in the series, and the game was a blast to play.
And the winner? Drum roll please…
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End- Naughty Dog
Uncharted 4 hands down provided me with the most exhilarating, cinematic adventure of any other game released this year. The story was simply one of the best I have ever played, with the usual great characters and the new additions of Sam, Rafe and Nadine, added so much to the adventure. It is truly a game I, and i’m sure many of you will never forget.
