Opinion: Games That Need PS4 Pro Patches

PlayStation 4 Pro adds so many new features, one of which is more power. So, with that being said, here’s a few games I believe NEED a PS4 Pro patch!

Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition

Minecraft is one of the PS4’s most beloved games. It’s also really popular, in fact, it hasn’t left the top 20 on PSN charts on PS3, PS4, or PS Vita since launch. With that being said, it should have PS4 Pro support given the popularity. While it probably can do Native 4K/60, I’d gladly take 1880p/60 with enhanced draw distance, lighting, and more.

BloodBorne

BloodBorne is personally my favorite PS4 exclusive. Being a joint project from SIE Japan Studio and FromSoftware, surely one of the two would want to patch this gorgeous game for PS4 Pro. Even if they don’t add a 4K mode, even 1080p/60 would make so many people happy. The environments would benefit greatly from the inclusion of HDR.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

Killzone: Shadow Fall is one of PS4’s launch titles. Guerrilla Games is widely known for the Killzone series and I know many fans would love to see the game return with a PS4 Pro patch. Even the addition of HDR would be so awesome thanks to the bright and colorful world, seeing those pop even more would be great! Being able to play the main story in 1080p/60 would also be super sweet! While the team is hard at work on Horizon: Zero Dawn, setting aside about 10 people to do a Pro version couldn’t be so bad, could it? 😉

The Order: 1886

Yeah, so it wasn’t PS4’s best game…. or a very good one in general at that, The Order is definitely a STUNNING game. The addition of HDR along with bumping up the resolution, making the FPS a locked 30 so it’ll be smooth, and getting rid of those annoying cinematic borders can totally give this game a second chance. On top of it, Ready At Dawn confirmed in an interview with GameInformer that there is more to the IP, so, why not let Pro owners experience this game in a much better way to prepare us for what’s next in the franchise, whenever that maybe.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas

Oceanhorn is a smaller title, as you can see, where you venture out looking for your father. As you do, you explore very gorgeous environments that NEED to be in 4K. PS4 Pro’s power can easily push Native 4K/60 on this and HDR would only make the game even more beautiful.

DriveClub

Oh boy… DriveClub had a rough life. In short, it was a game that was planned to be given out for free day 1, ended up being delayed, has a demo given out instead, online troubles left and right, had Evolution shut down, and then finally got a VR version. So, what a hard time this game has had, however, it was just recently patched to include the DriveClub VR tracks and even that game supports PS4 Pro. So why not update this gorgeous game 1880p/30 and 1080p/60 with HDR for those unreal environments. Come on Sony, please a few fans here while we wait for Gran Turismo Sport. 🙂
